China to Revise Plan for 197 Carbon Peak Standards in 10 Industries On September 15, 2021, China’s Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the formulation and revision plan for 197 carbon peak-related industry standards for public comments, including Technical Specification for Carbon Emission Verification in Petroleum and Chemical Industry. The deadline for submitting comments is October 15, 2021.

China MEE Consults on the Draft Work Plan and Indicator System for “No-Waste City” Construction China initiated “No-Waste City” Pilot Program on May 13, 2019 (Chemlinked News[3]). Today, it has achieved significant success. Since the launch of this program, 11 pilot cities and 5 special zones have completed 422 projects, which involved capital investment of more than 120 billion Yuan. It has developed 97 models that can be replicated and rolled out nationally.

China Issues Action Plan to Control Plastic Pollution by 2025 On September 8, 2021, China released the Plastic Pollution Control Action Plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan to further strengthen the plastic pollution control. Efforts will be made to control plastic pollution from plastic reduction, plastic recycling and disposal and plastic waste cleaning.
