Vietnam to Amend National Regulation on Safety for Hazardous Chemicals
On March 22, 2024, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade released a draft amendment to National Technical Regulations on Safety in Production, Trading, Use, Storage and Transportation of Dangerous Chemicals (QCVN 05A: 2020/BCT) for public consultation.
17,467 Substances Pre-registered under K-REACH
On April 17, 2024, Korea published the updated list of pre-registered substances under K-REACH. As of March 31, 2024, a total of 237,385 pre-registration applications were submitted for 17,467 chemical substances.
Vietnam Releases New Decree on Implementing Chemical Weapons Convention
On March 27, 2024, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) released Decree 33/2024/ND-CP Implementing the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction. The new regulation shall take effect on May 19, 2024 and replaces the existing Decree 38/2014/ND-CP.
