On 30 Dec 2013, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) of China and General Administration of Customs (GAC) jointly announced adjustment of Catalogue of Entry-Exit Commodities Inspected and Quarantined by the Competent Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Authority (in short as “Catalogue of Inspection and Quarantine”) in AQSIQ Announcement No. 185 (2013).
The changes are made in line with the 2014 Customs Tariff of Import and Export and Restraint of Trade in China. They are as follows:
- 13 hazardous chemical products (e.g. styrene), as well as 4 diagnostic agents and detection kits (e.g. blood grouping reagents), are added to the supervision scope, thus subject to entry-exit inspection and quarantine of China Inspection and Quarantine (CIQ) Authorities. 3 products including electrocardiography recorder will no longer be required of mandatory entry inspection and quarantine.

In accordance with the GAC’s HS code adjustment in 2014, corresponding changes are made to the coding of commodities in the Catalogue.
