India Consults Industry Associations on the Final Draft of Chemicals Management and Safety Rules

India’s final draft of Chemicals (Management and Safety) Rules was circulated to a limited number of industry associations by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers on March 16th, 2020. The draft hasn’t been officially published for public comment. As planned it will come into force on the date when it is published in the Official Gazette.

China New Chemical
China's new chemical management system is under revision. The revision of MEP Order 7 and its overarching Regulation on Environmental Risk Assessment and Control of Chemical Substances have been notified to the WTO for comments.
The revised K-REACH legislation is a significant deviation from the regulatory mechanisms outlined in the previous version. The amendments came into effect on Jan 1st, 2019, which sets out a plan of registering existing substances over 1 ton per year in the next 12 years.
