Global Chemical Regulation Highlights | March 2023

In March of 2023, China issued draft amendments to ‘GB 6944 Classification and code of dangerous goods’ and ‘GB 12268 List of dangerous goods’ for public consultation. South Korea published a notice to urge enterprises handling Group B biocidal active substances to speed up dossier preparation and submission for approval under K-BPR. Two batches of 1,469 hazardous substances are proposed to mandate SDS and labelling requirements under Japan ISHL. Thailand imposed a destruction order on PFOA, its salts and PFOA-related compounds. Australia restricted the introduction or use of two POPs.

China New Chemical Post-registration Obligations

30 April 2023: Deadline for 2022 Annual Reporting on New Chemicals in China

Enterprises that are obliged to submit an annual report shall complete the submission as soon as possible before 30 April 2023, ensuring the chemical activities in China are legal and compliant.

The fifth batch of 9 FAQs were published on December 23, 2022. The fourth batch of FAQs was published in June 2022.
