Road Transport of Dangerous Goods: Responsibilities of Loaders
Jan 07, 2020
In the previous articles, we have discussed the responsibilities and obligations of consignors and carriers, the two significant roles in the road transport of dangerous goods. However, besides the two roles mentioned above, another role is emphasized in the Measures for Safety Administration of Road Transport of Dangerous Goods [1], namely, the loaders.

Road Transport of Dangerous Goods: Responsibilities of Consignors
Jan 06, 2020
Consignors play a crucial role in ensuring safe road transport of dangerous goods. They refer to businesses or any other units which entrust a transport company to transport goods. Thus they are usually owners of goods, including businesses engaging in the manufacture, operations, or even transport of goods. It should be noted that a transport company is not necessarily a carrier: if it subcontracts goods to subcontractors, it will become a consignor.

Road Transport of Dangerous Goods Packed in LQ
Jan 06, 2020
The transport of dangerous goods with low hazards and in small quantities, such as aerosols and disinfectants, has always been a topic of heated discussion in the industry. If such goods can be transported using reliable and durable packages or following certain conditions, they will pose much fewer dangers.

Road Transport of Dangerous Goods Packed in EQ
Dec 30, 2019
In the Measures for Safety Administration of Road Transport of Dangerous Goods (ChemLinked Translation), the authorities state that dangerous goods packed in excepted quantities (EQ) in line with relevant requirements (the number of packages on a transport vehicle ≤ 1,000) “can be transported as general goods." The new rule is certainly encouraging for businesses in the dangerous goods industry. Below are several frequently asked questions concerning EQ stipulated in the Measures as well as the Regulations Concerning Road Transportation of Dangerous Goods (JT/T617; ChemLinked Translation).

China’s Supervision of VOCs Emissions Critical to Combating Grave Environmental Issues
Oct 10, 2019
VOCs control is a core problem in environmental protection in China. The haze pollution caused by PM2.5 is the biggest problem in China in the past 5 years. During the Chemicals Environmental and Safety Management Session of the Chemical Regulatory Annual Conference 2019 held by REACH24H in Xi’an on September 3rd, 2019, Prof. Guangli Xiu from East China University of Science and Technology introduced VOCs policies, regulatory trends and chemical risk management in China.

China's VOC Management and Impact on the Chemical Industry
Sep 09, 2019
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic chemicals that have a low boiling point (below 250ºC) at atmospheric pressure. While most of them are not acutely toxic, they are known to have negative long-term effects on human health. According to a study published in 2017, in China the use of VOC-containing products is the main source of VOC emissions, contributing about 75% of total emissions. Other sources are the production of VOCs (10%), the use of VOCs as raw materials (9%) and storage/transportation of VOCs (5%).
