Taiwan’s Standard Registration of 106 Priority Existing Chemicals

Taiwan’s standard registration for 106 priority existing chemicals (PECs) at or above one tonne a year began on January 1, 2020. According to the amendments of Taiwan's New and Existing Chemical Registration Regulation, the standard registration for the PECs should be completed within 2 or 3 years. Taiwan Chemical Commodity Importation Pre-Confirmation — Self-Declaration Border Control System Introduced

A voluntary pre-confirmation of chemical commodities on the IT platform of Chemical Commodity Importation Pre-Confirmation (CCIP) prior to importation was recently introduced in Taiwan. Stakeholders are encouraged to declare and confirm if there are any chemical substances subject to new and existing chemical registration according to Article 7-1 of Toxic Chemical Substances Control Act (TCSCA) and the Regulation of New and Existing Chemical Substances. Pre-confirmation on the CCIP IT platform (which will serve as a basis for post-market inspection) is administrated by Taiwan EPA and local environmental protection departments to support a better implementation of Taiwan’s chemical registration scheme.
