Japan Adds 15 Priority Assessment Chemicals

15 substances (given number 237~251) were designated on Apr 1st as “priority assessment chemicals” (PACs) under the Chemical Substance Control Law (CSCL) according to Japan’s Gazette[1]. This brings the total number of PACs to 223 (some deleted or grouped under one single entry in the past years).

Japan Exempts 150 Existing Substances from Annual Notification

On Mar 29, 2019, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Ministry of Environment (MOE) announced the addition of 150 existing substances to the List of Substances Exempted from Notification of Manufacturing/Import Amount. The updated list now contains 2,847 substances in total.
