Taiwan Consults on Amendments to Regulation of Priority Management Chemicals

Taiwan's Ministry of Labor is consulting on changes to the Regulations Governing Designating and Handling of Priority Management Chemicals, designed to tighten controls over the handling of priority management substances which may pose serious hazards to the health and safety of workers.
Taiwan Requires Additional Operational Information on Specific Priority Management Chemicals

On 12th September 2019, Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Authority under MoL issued a notice requiring submission of additional operational information from the handling enterprises of 10 designated priority management chemicals. The additional information should be submitted through the online PRochem platform before 15th November 2019. The affected chemicals are shown in Table 1.

Taiwan’s Regulation Governing Designation and Handling of Priority Management Chemicals (hereinafter referred to as the “Regulation”) is prescribed in accordance with Article 14 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (hereinafter referred to as the "OSHA"), which requires manufacturers, importers, suppliers, or employers to report relevant handling information of priority management chemicals to the MoL. The regulation has been effective since 1 Jan 2015.
