Mis-labeled hazardous chemical goods rejected in Guangdong

According to inspection and quarantine bureau of Huizhou, an important port in Guangzhou, a batch of imported ink was investigated and rejected for illegal labeling of the contained hazardous chemicals. This is the first denial of the mis-labeled hazardous chemicals in Huizhou Port since China strengthening inspection on imported hazardous chemicals from 1st February 2012.

According to inspection and quarantine bureau of Huizhou, an important port in Guangzhou, a batch of imported ink was investigated and rejected for illegal labeling of the contained hazardous chemicals. This is the first denial of the mis-labeled hazardous chemicals in Huizhou Port since China strengthening inspection on imported hazardous chemicals from 1st February 2012.

In custom inspection on the imported ink, the bureau found the declared hazardous chemicals were labeled only in English other than Chinese, and no domestic emergency call was marked on the packages, non-compliances in formation and content with Chinese standards were investigated as well. Under the updated state law, the bureau ruled the imported goods illegal and upon further inspection report issued by qualified inspection agency.

With the state Council Decree 591 (Regulations on the Control over Safety of Hazard Chemicals) came into force end last year, CIQ became responsible of inspection for the entry-exit hazardous chemicals and their packages. In addition to documents according to the Provisions on theAdministration of Entry-Exit Inspection And Quarantine Report by Proxy, consignee or representative agent of the imported chemicals should provide submittals including: declaration of conformity for Hazardous Chemicals Importers; hazard identification and classification report ,SDS and precautionary label; available information on the name, quantity (and other conditions) of inhibitors and stabilizers contained in the imported products.

Succession of illegal hazardous Chemical for labeling unconformities have been found in southern port since China strengthening the inspection, the importers were again cautioned by CIQ to update their knowledge about the regulation and contact their suppliers in comply with Chinese national standards.
