In April of 2024, China imposes licensing control on export of 24 precursor chemicals to Myanmar, Laos, and Afghanistan. South Korea published the updated list of pre-registered substances under K-REACH. Japan introduced 12 substances to PAC List. Vietnam notified the draft chemical law to WTO for comment. India published Quality Control Order for orthophosphoric acid. Australia proposed to add Dechlorane Plus and UV-328 under ICHEMS.

Nov 30, 2023
In November of 2023, China released a notice to strengthen standardized environmental management on hazardous wastes. South Korea designated 55 new toxic chemical substances and updated the GHS Classification List. Japan opened a public consultation to designate NPE as Class II Specified Chemical Substance under the CSCL. Thailand DIW proposed to list 147 PFHxS related substances as Type 3 hazardous substances. New Zealand called for submissions regarding proposed changes to a series of group standards to reduce the maximum allowable levels of lead in paint.

In July of 2023, China MEM required enterprises to fill in Hazchem business information on national platform. Taiwan EPA proposed amendments to the Permit Registration and Approval Regulations for Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances. South Korea intended to update requirements for low-volume new chemical registration. Australia designated PFOA and decaBDE as chemicals subject to AICIS Authorization. India further delayed QCOs for 10 chemicals. Thailand's FDA notified WTO of the proposed updates of the notification requirements for Type 1 hazardous substances (only for items under the FDA's responsibility) for comments.

In March of 2023, China issued draft amendments to ‘GB 6944 Classification and code of dangerous goods’ and ‘GB 12268 List of dangerous goods’ for public consultation. South Korea published a notice to urge enterprises handling Group B biocidal active substances to speed up dossier preparation and submission for approval under K-BPR. Two batches of 1,469 hazardous substances are proposed to mandate SDS and labelling requirements under Japan ISHL. Thailand imposed a destruction order on PFOA, its salts and PFOA-related compounds. Australia restricted the introduction or use of two POPs.
