The GB 20601 was referred to  and evolved from the GHS standard in its compiling process by the AQSIQ and SAC, however,  there are some minor distinctions between them.

It detailed the classification, precautionary labeling and precautionary statements of chemicals for specific target organ systemic toxicity (repeated exposure).

• explaining the determination and classification processes for specific target organ systemic toxicity (repeated exposure), and classifying this hazard class into 2 categories;

• For each of the category, elements of the precautions such as diagrams, designations and hazardous statement have been demonstrated;

• setting collocation of the precaution elements;

• providing precaution statements for the substance or mixture, such as physical hazard;

• precautions of health hazards from misuses and exposures;

• measures for accidental treatment;

• Emergency  treatment;

• measures for environmental protection and disposals;

• specific statements for the consumers.
