On June 16, 2023,  the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) publicized the draft to solicit public comments due by August 16, 2023. It has been under formulation for years since December 2014 when the MIIT published a plan to initialize the project, which is devised to be in line with the UN Recommendation on the Transport of Dangerous Goods – Model Regulations (Rev. 22nd) and certain domestic standards (e.g., GB 28644.1 and GB 28644.2). Once approved, as a mandatory national standard, it is expected to take effect 12 months later after their official publication.
