17 October 2012, the SAWS published eight final documents pertaining to the application of China's hazardous chemicals registration regulation (SAWS Order 53). These eight application documents are released as the SAWS Notice 144 of 2012 and has put into practical use as of 15 October of 2012. Early in July of the same year, SAWS held a 15-day public consultation on the draft versions of the eight documents.
Major changes in the final application documents include the following items:
detailed contact information of person in charge of work safety inside the applying company;
number of personnel handling the highly toxic chemicals inside the company and number of personnel handling special oeprations;
big modification in the column of "(company) size" and adding a new size, the micro-sized enterprise";

hazard class and category information for all chemical products, intermediates, raw materials, imported chemicals in both the application forms for the manufacturer/producer and the importer;
quite a few changes to the required items in the columns, "Toxicological properties" and "Eco-toxicological information" (not compulsory data any more);
information about the "mode of transport" and the "transport temperature" for the column, "Safety transport requirements".
