This Act aims to ensure safe and good quality of food, drugs and cosmetics and to regulate their production, sale and distribution in order to protect public health. In the Philippines, food packaging materials are generally regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which was established by the Food, Drugs and Devices, and Cosmetic Act of 1963 (Republic Act No. 3720).
