Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/3190 on the use of bisphenol A (BPA) and other bisphenols and bisphenol derivatives with harmonised classification for specific hazardous properties in certain materials and articles intended to come into contact with food

Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/3190, adopted on December 19, 2024, bans the use and trade of Bisphenol A (BPA), its salts, and other hazardous bisphenols and their derivatives in materials and articles intended to come into contact with food within the European Union. 

This regulation, which entered into force on January 20, 2025, amends and repeals the previous Regulation (EU) 2018/213, strengthening restrictions on BPA and other bisphenols in food contact materials.
