With the approaching KKDIK registration deadline of December 31, 2023, the Turkish Minister of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change (MoEUCC) revised the KKDIK Regulation (Turkey REACH) on December 23, 2023 to gradually extend the registration deadlines based on tonnage and hazard classification.
According to the KKDIK Regulation, companies that manufacture or import substances at or above one tonne annually must complete registration procedures by December 31, 2023. However, the number of registered substances remains relatively low, potentially due to factors such as high data costs, reluctance to assume the role of lead registrant, and limited consortium establishment. The extended timeline aims to relieve the industry.
*KKDIK is an acronym in Turkish for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals.
