Summary

On April 17, 2026, the New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board finalized rule 20.13.2 NMAC regulating per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in consumer products. The rule, adopted under the PFAS Protection Act, establishes a comprehensive framework for phasing in product prohibitions, mandatory PFAS reporting, labeling requirements, and associated testing obligations for products with intentionally added PFAS, effective from July 1, 2026.
