This standard applies to the classification and labeling for flammable solids. The current version is an update of its initial one published on 12 Oct 2006, based on Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, ST/SG/AC. 10/31/Rev.2 (GHS Rev.2 released in 2007).
A flammable solid is a solid which is readily combustible, or may cause or contribute to fire through friction. Readily combustible solids are powered, granular, or pasty substances which are dangerous if they can be easily ignited by brief contact with an ignition source, such as a burning match, and if the flame spread rapidly.
