Taiwan adopted the newly revised Toxic Chemical Substance Control Act (Taiwan TCSCA), promulgated by Presidential Order on 11 Dec 2013. The revised TCSCA adopt a core principle of registration scheme to require manufacturers and importers to register designated substances prior to entering Taiwan’s market. The new chemical substances and the priority substances designated by Taiwan EPA will be managed under the registration scheme, and more rigorous requirements will be imposed on the handling of Class 4 toxic chemical substances, the provisions concerned will take effect one year after its promulgation on 11 Dec 2014.
