In order to prevent and mitigate the risks of hazardous and toxic substances impact to the living environment, human health and other living creatures, Indonesian government issues this regulation and stipulates a comprehensive range of requirements on the control and management of hazardous substances.
This regulation gives the definition of hazardous and toxic substances and defines the range of application. It specifies the management of hazardous and toxic substances in following chapters:
Classification: the hazardous and toxic substances are classified into 15 categories.
Management and procedures.
Commission: a hazardous and toxic substance commission shall be established to provide the government advices and considerations.

Administrative sanctions.
