Draft Revision to the HBCD Risk Determination Published by US EPA

On Dec 29, 2021, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a draft revision to the risk determination for cyclic aliphatic bromide cluster chemicals including hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) issued under TSCA. The draft revision addresses some of the shortcomings identified in the original risk assessment and reflects the announced policy changes to ensure the public is adequately protected from unreasonable risks from chemicals.

U.S. EPA’s Proposed Rule to Modify User Fees under TSCA

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published a Proposed Rule which announced proposed amendments and adjustments to the 2018 fees rule under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The proposed rule announced modifications to fees that affects both new and existing chemicals under TSCA for fiscal years 2022, 2023 and 2024.

TSCA’s Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) Deadline is Rapidly Approaching - November 30, 2020

The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) stipulates that manufacturers and importers must submit chemical information to the US Environmental Protection Agency in accordance with Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) requirements, which occurs every four years. For the 2020 submission period, the deadline has been extended until November 30, 2020, and must be completed online via the e-CDRweb tool which is found within the Central Data Exchange (CDX).

China MOFCOM Reinstates Anti-dumping Measures on Resorcinol Imported from Japan and the US

1.Starting on March 23, 2019 China MOFCOM reinstated anti-dumping measures on resorcinol imported from Japan and the United States which will run for five years. 2.The anti-dumping tax rate is 40.5% for Japanese companies and 30.1% for American companies.
