Background

2014 was a significant year for chemical industry in the AP, and saw a myriad of legislations passed and regulations, guidelines and documents drafted all with a view to realizing the GHS agenda. There was a concerted effort of the governments in the AP to fulfill their commitments to achieve the WSSD (World Summit on Sustainable Development) 2020 goal of sound chemical management worldwide. Taiwan and South Korea were a focal point of activity in this respect. 2015 will be a critical year to implement the chemical regulatory framework reforms drafted and planned in recent years.
