The Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) made public the Action Plan for New Pollutants Treatment (draft) on October 11, 2021 to solicit comments until October 22, 2021. The draft Plan outlines the general requirements, goals and six major measures for new pollutants treatment, as well as the first batch of new pollutants for priority management in the annex, which had attracted widespread attention from the industry. 

The Chinese General Office of the State Council officially released the approved Action Plan for New Pollutants Treatment, according to Notice No.15 of 2022 issued on May 24, 2022, which vows to improve China’s new pollutants treatment capacity significantly by 2025.
