On June 7, 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China published national standard GB/T 36421-2018 "Restricted Substances Applicable to Printing Inks in Packaging Materials", which sets out management requirements, good manufacturing practices, and a list of 878 restricted substances for printing inks used in packaging materials, effective from January 1, 2019.
