Summary

The Philippines has adopted the EPR system for packaging from August 13 of 2022 by the implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility Act of 2022 (Republic Act (RA) No. 11898). The RA institutionalizes the EPR on plastic packaging waste, by amending Republic Act No.9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
