Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Act, namely Taiwan OSHA (previously as “LSHA”) passed its third reading on 18 Jun 2013 and was promulgated on 3 July 2013 by President Order 10200127211. The newly approved OSHA includes 55 articles. The key revisions mainly related to the chemicals management are as follows, including:
Labeling and MSDS requirements for hazardous chemicals in supply chain (Article 10);
Hierarchical management on hazardous chemicals based on risk degree assessed according to health hazard, distribution and handling amount (Article 11);
CSR submission for new chemical substance registration (Article 13);
License management on controlled chemicals and the handling requirements for chemicals of priority management (Article 14)
The Council of Labor Affairs of the Executive Yuan was renamed as the Ministry of Labor on 17 Feb 2014.
