On 15 March 2018, China’s MIIT officially released “China RoHS2”- Achieving Management Catalogue for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical Appliances and Electronic Products (first batch) and its Exemption List. The regulations will go into effect on 15 March 2019.
China RoHS2 imposes concentration limits for some hazardous chemicals on the listed products. The concentration limit is 1000mg/kg for lead, mercury, chromium (6+), poly brominated biphenyls (PBBs) and poly brominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs); and 100mg/kg for cadmium.
