The revised Enforcement Decree of the Act on Registration and Evaluation, etc. of Chemical Substances (hereafter referred to as K-REACH Enforcement Decree) was promulgated on 24 Dec 2018 by Presidential Decree No. 29413. The Enforcement Decree and Enforcement Rules were revised accordingly to corporate with K-REACH's revisions. The updates came into effect on 1 Jan 2019.

Taiwan issued the Guidance for New and Existing Chemical Substance Registration (Version 1) in August of 2015. The “Regulation of New and Existing Chemical Substances Registration” entered into force on 11 Dec 2014 setting out specific provisions under Taiwan TCSCA for chemical substances manufactured or imported in Taiwan. The newly released Guidance relates to this regulation, aiming to guide potential registrants in complying with their obligations.

Revised Data Requirements and Exemption Conditions for China New Chemical Notification

The amendments on data requirements in China's New Substance Notification Guidance were published on Aug 28th 2017 as an individual announcement (MEP Announcement No.42 of 2017), rather than being published as part of the full document of the revised Guidance. The amendments will take effect from Oct 15th 2017. Compared to the current version issued in 2010 (e-translation available on e-book store), updates have been highlighted in yellow in this translation, which will facilitate effective planning and utilization of the test programs according to the new requirements.

The Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemicals of Korea (a.k.a “K-REACH”) was passed on Apr 30, 2013. As the first REACH-style chemical regulation adopted in Asia, it is intended to establish a new chemical management regime in Korea. The drafts of K-REACH subordinate statutes, i.e. the Presidential Decree (also known as the Enforcement Decree) and the Ministerial Decree (also known as the Enforcement Rules) were issued on 18 Feb 2014 for public consultation. The subordinate states detail management of chemicals and downstream products.This affiliate publication is not included in ChemLinked paid membership. The final version of Presidential Decree (also known as the Enforcement Decree) was published on 9 Dec 2014 and the English translation is now available to access on ChemLinked. We are still working on the translation of the final version of Ministerial Decree (also known as the Enforcement Rules).
