Korea GHS: Key Takeaways for MSDS Preparation Following Revisions to K-REACH and K-OSHA

These revisions reshape the entire chemical management landscape in South Korea through refined classification of toxic chemical substances and stronger preventive measures for industrial safety.

Following the implementation of K-REACH revisions that took effect on August 7, 2025, South Korea’s Ministry of Environment (MoE), Ministry of Employment and Labor (MoEL), and National Institute of Chemical Safety (NICS) successively published partial amendments to the supporting regulations under K-REACH and K-OSHA in the recent period. Speaking at the 17th Chemical Regulatory Annual Conference (CRAC) held on September 11, 2025, Ms. Jungsil Uhm, from the Korea Environment Conservation Institute (KECI), introduced the significant revisions to South Korea’s important chemical regulations K-REACH and K-OSHA. Highlights are summarized below.
