The year 2021 has witnessed many significant events and progress in the chemical industry in the Asia-Pacific region. 2021 is the first year when the new Measures for the Environmental Management Registration of New Chemical Substances (MEE Order No.12 of 2020) took effect in Chinese mainland. China's Taiwan revised the New and Existing Chemical Registration Regulation and extended 106 PECs registration deadline to the end of 2024. Japan revised substances lists under the Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) law, and consulted on Enforcement Order of  Industrial Safety and Health Law (ISHL) and Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health for 234 substances for mandatory SDS and Label requirements, as well as substances Lists under Poisonous and Deleterious Substances Control Law (PDSCL). Thailand published a draft of the Chemical Substance Act. Vietnam decided to amend the Law on Chemicals and consulted on the Amendment of Decree No.113/2017/ND-CP.

Global chemical stakeholders need to stay vigilant about the frequent regulatory changes, so as to effectively address compliance challenges and aim for great success while shouldering their social responsibilities. Therefore, ChemLinked Chemical Portal invites you to join us for a livestreamed look back at the chemical regulatory updates in the Asia Pacific region throughout the year, in which we will analyze and explain these changes and their impacts. You will also get to know what to expect regulatory-wise as we move to 2022.
