Taiwan to Revise New and Existing Chemical Registration Fees

On 17 September 2020, Taiwan EPA issued a proposed revision to the Standard on Toxic Chemical Substances Handling Application Fee and Chemical Registration Fee. It is now subject to a period of public consultation lasting 60 days.

Taiwan Updates Toxic Chemical Substance List

In response to international management trends of dicofol, on September 18, 2020, Taiwan EPA listed Dicofol into the Toxic Chemical Substance List (TCSL) as Class 1, 3 toxic chemical and implemented a blanket ban on it. In addition, the management on several POPs that were previously listed as toxic chemical were tightened.

Taiwan to Extend Registration Deadline of 106 PECs

Taiwan Starts Annual Reporting of Registered New and Existing Substances

Annual reporting of the registered new and existing chemical substances is a new post-registration requirement in Taiwan. According to the Article 24 of the revised Regulations of New and Existing Chemicals Registration, the registrant shall report annually through the IT system between April 1 to September 30, including the registrant information, registration number, and last year’s volume of manufacture or importation.

Taiwan Releases the Permit Registration and Approval Regulations for Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances

Takehome: Taiwan EPA released the revised Permit Registration and Approval Regulations for Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances and repealed the Approval Regulations for Class 4 Toxic Chemical Substances. The application procedures for toxic or concerned chemical substances permit, registration, and approval are specified in this Regulations, as well as the management and supervision of the permit, registration, and approval.

Taiwan to Promote Non-animal Testing for Taiwan REACH

Taiwan to Issue Guidance for Standard Registration of Priority Existing Chemicals
Oct 09, 2019
The standard registration for 106 priority existing chemicals (PECs) at or above one tonne a year will begin from Jan 1st, 2020. The most important supporting guidance was initially drafted in March detailing information companies must file, to what extent diversified data can be accepted and other issues relating to standard registration. It was updated in the end of September after several issues and industry concerns raised during the seminars organized by the authority to familiarize companies with the standard registration of PECs. The final version will soon be finalized by the end of this year.
