China's Key Food Contact Materials Standard: GB 9685 Revision

1. The draft contains 1316 food contact materials additives permitted to be used in China. The existing standard, GB 9685-2008 contains just 958. 2. The revised GB 9685 as a whole is more internationally compatible.

1. NHFPC is cleaning up all national standards relating to food contact materials. More elementary or important standards are being drafted or revised. 2. The amendment of GB 9685-2008, which includes 959 additives for use in FCMs is drawing to a close. The number of additives will be expanded from 959 to 1297.
