China Initiates Revision of GB 38508 Standard for VOC Content Limits in Cleaning Agent

China has officially commenced the revision process for its mandatory national standard, GB 38508-2020 Limits for volatile organic compounds content in cleaning agents. The National Standardization Administration Committee formally announced the revision plan for GB 38508 in March 2026. In alignment with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) overall standardization agenda, the revision is slated for completion within 2026. The Industry Cleaning Association of China (ICAC) is responsible for the drafting process.
