MOT Consults on Standard for Vehicles Carrying Dangerous Goods

On 1 August 2018, MOT published the standard Safety technical specifications for a commercial vehicle carrying dangerous goods(危险货物道路运输营运车辆安全技术条件) for public feedback. The consultation will close on 20 Aug 2018.

This standard integrates ADR, classifying vehicles according to hazard and properties of consigned goods. It further supplements the regulatory framework by setting previously absent rules for package transport vehicles, bulk cargo transport vehicles and tank vehicle rear impact protection.

The standard includes classifications of vehicles carrying dangerous goods and general or special requirements for vehicles. The classification is based on the type of hazards of dangerous goods, including EX/II and EX/III (explosives), FL (Flammable gases and liquids), OX (hydrogen peroxide solution), AT, and CT. The terminology mentioned above is consistent with GB21668.

There are no conflicts between this regulation and other related law or national standards. Noticeably, it is a supplementary standard to the JT/T 617 which is being evaluated.
