It’s been two months since Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanization (MoEU) published the long delayed REACH-like regulation, KKDIK (Chemicals Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction) this June. Because the regulation was published in Turkish, foreign companies had difficulties understanding the detailed requirements on chemical registrations. Recently, the Turkish government published the English translation of the regulation and its 2 annexes.
Three documents were translated:
The registration deadline is Dec 31st 2023 and the deadline for pre-registration has been set as Dec 31st 2020. Three former regulations on chemicals in Turkey are repealed and replaced by KKDIK:
The Inventory and Control of Chemicals;
The Preparation and Distribution of Safety Datasheets for Hazardous Materials and Products (GBF);
The Restrictions Relating to the Production, Supply to the Market and Use of Certain Hazardous Materials, Products and Goods (KEK).
