The Philippines Consults on Updating PICCS List

In November 2023, the Philippine Environmental Management Bureau under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-EMB) released drafts on updating the Philippine Inventory of Chemicals and Chemical Substances (PICCS) for year 2022 and 2023, which would expand the present number of chemicals listed in the PICCS from 22,277 to 22,439 with the addition of 162 new chemicals.

The Philippines Extends Registration Deadline for HUHS Products

On January 21, 2022, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the Philippines published FDA Circular (2021-011A), extending the registration deadline for Household/Urban Hazardous Substances Products (HUHS products) to December 31, 2023. The Circular took effect on February 5, 2022.

The Philippines Issues Two CCOs on Cadmium and Its Compounds and Chromium VI Compounds

The Philippine Environment Management Bureau (EMB) under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) issued the Chemical Control Order (CCO) for Cadmium and Cadmium Compounds (DAO 2021-08) on October 22, 2021 and the Chemical Control Order (CCO) for Chromium VI Compounds (DAO 2021-08) on October 26, 2021. They will take effect fifteen days after publication.
