GB 12268-20XX List of Dangerous Goods (Draft)

"GB 12268 List of Dangerous Goods" is a national mandatory standard regarding dangerous goods within China. It was first issued on 25 July 2005 and implemented on 1 November 2005. It has been revised in 2012. To be in line with the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Model Regulations (Rev. 22), the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria (Rev. 7), and other relevant regulations and technical standards in China, the authority drafted the revisions to GB 6944 and GB 12268 to solicit public feedback. The period for comments ended on May 8, 2023. Once adopted, the revised standards are expected to take effect 12 months after publication and replace their 2012 versions.GB 12268 applies to the transport, storage, distribution and related activities of dangerous goods. It lists the most common dangerous goods during the process of transport, storage, sale, distribution and other related activities, which is intended to cover, as far as practicable, all dangerous substances and articles of commercial importance.

For each batch of Hazchem, a unique QR code should be generated and affixed to the smallest outer packaging throughout its circulation within Shanghai.

List of New Pollutants for Priority Management (2022 Draft)

On September 27, 2022, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment released a notice to solicit public comments for the Draft List of New Pollutants for Priority Management (2022) (hereinafter referred to as “2022 Draft”). The 2022 Draft contains 14 types of new pollutants, specifying their names, CAS numbers and major environmental risk control measures. Comments are welcome before October 28, 2022.The 2022 Draft recategorizes the 23 of 28 types of new pollutants listed in the 2021 Draft into the above 14 types. It deletes the following 5 types, i.e., dioxins, formaldehyde, ethanal, tetrachloroethylene and trichloroethylene. In addition, the 2022 Draft provides more detailed information for chemical identification (i.e., CAS number).
