On November 29, Shanghai Emergency Management Bureau published the Guidelines for the Use Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals in Industrial and Trade Enterprises in Shanghai (Trial) (hereafter referred to as the Guideline). The Guidelines will come into force on January 1, 2022, and will be valid for two years.

China to Tighten New Pollutants Management, Industries Facing Challenges on Source Control over Toxic and Hazardous Chemical Substances

On October 11, 2021, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) published a notice to seek public feedback on the draft Action Plan for New Pollutants Treatment. The draft Plan outlines the general requirements, goals and six major measures for new pollutants treatment, as well as the first batch of new pollutants for priority management in the annex. The consultation will end on October 22, 2021.

China MEE Consults on the Draft Work Plan and Indicator System for “No-Waste City” Construction

China initiated “No-Waste City” Pilot Program on May 13, 2019 (Chemlinked News[3]). Today, it has achieved significant success. Since the launch of this program, 11 pilot cities and 5 special zones have completed 422 projects, which involved capital investment of more than 120 billion Yuan.
