Taiwan Introduces Toxic and Chemical Substances of Concern Control Act

Taiwan’s Toxic Chemical Substance Control Act was revised and renamed as the Toxic and Chemical Substances of Concern Control Act. The new act will take effect one year after the promulgation, while Article 7, Article 54, Article 65, Article 67 and Article 72 will be effective immediately.

China Consults on Chemical Environmental Risk Assessment and Control Regulation

Within the new Chemical Environmental Risk Assessment and Control draft regulation are stipulations on requirements to submit an annual report on activities involving both existing and new chemical substances China will compile inventories on priority controlled, severely restricted and banned chemical substances A recordation system is to take place of current simplified notification system in new chemical substance management

672 Substances Designated for Priority Management under Korea REACH

Two lists of 672 substances subject to priority management under K-REACH were issued. Notification of products containing the priority management substance is required if the quantity is above 1t/y and the content exceeds 0.1% w/w The first list will be implemented from July 2019 while the second list will be adopted two years thereafter.

On Dec 4th, 2018, Thailand Hazardous Substances Management Division under the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) opened the draft revisions to the Hazardous Substances Act to public consultation. The consultation period will end on Dec 14th, 2018.
