On May 22, 2019, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) opened the public consultation period on the proposed approval of 5 additives of food contact materials (FCM) and 2 new resins[1]following a technical evaluation conducted by the expert review committee.

Failure Rate of Food Contact Products Hit Record High in 2018

Radom inspection by SAMR showed 4.4% of food contact products were found not compliant. During GAC sampling in 2018, imported food contact materials demonstrated the lowest failure rate in recorded history at just 2.9%.
