On April 25, 2019, State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) publicized the results of its 2018 sampling inspections[1].

Food machinery poses highest safety risk
A total of 24 types and 2304 batches of food related products were subjected to random inspections. Stratified by category the highest failure rate was seen in commercial electrical food processing equipment which clocked in at a massive 20% failure rate.

GAC reported 2.9% imported food contact products not compliant
Compared with statistics of the past several years[2], imported food contact products came in better-than-expected at 2.9%, according to sampling inspection over imported goods conducted by General Administration of Customs[3] (GAC).
