Brazil has formally established a national RoHS framework for electrical and electronic equipment, with staggered substance-restriction deadlines, separate product registration and self-declaration requirements, and temporary exemption procedures.
On July 10, 2026, Brazil published CONAMA RESOLUTION No. 516 (RESOLUÇÃO CONAMA Nº 516, DE 8 DE JULHO DE 2026), formally establishing the country's Restriction of Hazardous Substance (RoHS) regulatory framework for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). The Resolution entered into force on the date of publication, although its substance restrictions and related compliance obligations are subject to different implementation timelines.
