California OEHHA has listed bisphenol S (BPS) as a developmental toxicant under Proposition 65 effective December 8, 2025, completing its recognition for all major reproductive toxicity endpoints and triggering phased warning requirements for businesses over 2024–2026.
Effective December 8, 2025, the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has added bisphenol S (BPS) to the list of chemicals known to the state to cause reproductive toxicity, specifically identifying it as a developmental toxicant. This listing action was taken under the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65) following a determination by the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC).
