China Updated Catalogue of Commodities Subject to Entry-Exit Inspection

On Dec 31^st, 2014, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) of China and General Administration of Customs (GAC) issued a joint announcement on the adjustment of the “Catalogue of Entry-Exit Commodities Inspected and Quarantined by the Competent Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Authority” (abbreviated to “Catalogue of Inspection and Quarantine”).

In accordance with regulations on entry-exit commodity inspection, Customs Tariff (2015) and the adjustment to trade controls, the following changes are made: (Details can be referred in Annex)

1. 4 types of products are newly added to the Catalogue of Inspection and Quarantine;

2. Veterinary vaccines are no longer subject to entry-exit inspection;

3. In line with the GAC’s HS code adjustment in 2014, corresponding changes are made to the coding of commodities in the Catalogue.

Commodities listed in the Catalogue are subject to entry-exit inspection and quarantine by authorized CIQ bodies. Prior to customs declaration, the consignee/consigner or representative agent of the specified import/export commodities need to first acquire an Import/Export Declaration form signed and issued by CIQ agencies.
