India Further Delays Quality Control Orders for Acrylate and Vinyl Monomers

Once implemented, the QCO shall mandate the manufacturer of the 3 chemicals to apply for a Grant of License by the Bureau of Indian Standard to use the Standard Mark.

On April 1, 2025, India's Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) issued a Notification on the gazette regarding the delayed implementation of Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for Vinyl Acetate Monomer, Methyl Acrylate, and Ethyl Acrylate. 

As set by the Amendment, the implementation date for these Acrylate/Vinyl Monomers will be delayed for another year. The details are shown below:

The Orders do not apply to chemicals for export only. The chemical products conforming to the requirements of the Orders shall bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards. Any person who contravenes the provisions of the Orders shall be punished according to the Bureau of Indian Standards Act (BIS Act), 2016.
