Japan MHLW Adds 196 Existing Chemical Substances under ISHL

On December 27, 2021, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) published on the official gazette the last batch of 196 chemical substances as existing chemical substances under the Industrial Safety and Health Law (ISHL). Usually, new chemical substances which have been registered as per the ISHL will be published four times each year (in March, June, September, and December, respectively). This year, five batches of these substances were released, as the missing substances in the previous batch published in September were released in November.
