Japan Designates 78 New Substances with Concentration Standards

Japan continues to maintain an annual designation frequency, gradually expanding the scope of substances.

On October 8, 2025, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) designated 78 new substances with concentration standards under the Industrial Safety and Health Law (ISHL) through Notification No. 269. Additionally, "Acetic acid-secondary butyl" has been included under the designation of "Butyl acetate" as follows. Notification No. 269 will take effect on October 1, 2026.
