MIIT Promotes ADC Vesicant Cleaner Production Technology

The “Implementation of Azodicarbonamide (ADC) Vesicant Cleaner Production Technology” drafted by the China’s MIIT is open for public consultation till 27th November. The draft was made in accordance with the “Implementation of Industrial Cleaner Production ‘Twelfth Five’ Plan”, aiming to promote advanced clean techniques and subsequently reduce unnecessary chemical pollution during manufacturing.

ADC vesicant is a stable and non-toxic chemical widely used in polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyamide, ABC and various rubbers synthetic materials. ADC vesicant has superior performance on vesicating materials such as slippers, soles, insoles, plastic wallpaper, ceiling, floor leather, leatherette, thermal insulation and sound insulation, etc.

The utilization of ADC vesicant itself is not polluting, however the manufacturing of ADC vesicant will produce a great amount of wastewater that is high in salinity and ammonia nitrogen concentration. The proposed cleaner production technology can effectively decrease the amount of pollutants due to ADC vesicant production.
