MOFCOM Initiates Anti-dumping Investigation on Imported NPA Originating from the US

On July 23, MOFCOM released Announcement No. 32 of 2019, marking the beginning of a one-year anti-dumping investigation on imported n-Propanol (abbreviated NPA) originating from the United States. Under certain conditions the investigation period could be extended to Jan 23, 2021.

According to the announcement, the anti-dumping investigation period is from Jan 1, 2018 to Dec 31, 2018, and the investigation period to assess the negative impact of US NPA on China’s domestic sector is from Jan 1, 2015 to Dec 31, 2018. Any interested party can take part in this anti-dumping investigation by registering with the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau within 20 days after the release of the Announcement No. 32 of 2019.

Any interested party can search for public information on the case on the relevant websites or search, review and copy the public information of the case at the Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau. Any interested party can submit the comments on the product scope, applicant qualification, target country and other relevant issues to the Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau within 20 days after the release of the announcement.

MOFCOM will use questionnaire surveys, sampling surveys, hearings, and on-site inspections, etc. and all the interested parties should submit the completed questionnaire within the required time. Interested parties can make a request for confidentiality of their information being submitted to the MOFCOM.
